7 étapes
Prepare the dough: Combine egg, warm milk, warm water, sunflower oil, grape vinegar, activated fresh yeast, salt and about 500 grams of flour in a bowl. Knead a smooth dough and leave to rise in a warm place.
Once the dough has risen, divide the dough into 7 equal parts. Roll out each part very thinly.
Place each flatbread on a tray greased with melted butter and grease the top with melted butter again. Stack all 7 layers on top of each other and grease the last layer as well.
Cut the stacked dough into wide strips. Wrap each strip around your fingers and then form it into a ring shape.
Leave the shaped rings to rise for 15-20 minutes.
Heat the butter and sunflower oil mixture in a pot and fry the qatlamas until golden, turning them with a fork to help the layers separate.
Drain the oil from the finished qatlamas on paper towels and sprinkle powdered sugar on top while hot.
Served hot with tea, sprinkled with powdered sugar.
